Took off all the vinyl on the paint, and I almost forgot...the car is RED!
Eventually I will have another cool vinyl scheme, but for now I think I will enjoy the clean look.

Sorry for lack of posts, I was trying to wait for some pictures of action shots but don't really have any. Anyways, finals are just around the corner and for once, I decided to stay at my apartment over the weekend to just buckle down and study.

A lot of crazy things have happened to my family over the past 2 weeks, and its beginning to affect me too. On top of that, school has been killing me as usual. Its almost over though, another week of hell and I am done! Summers here, new apartment, new roomates, work, play, drink, all of dat.

So the miata has been running, but not well. haha... As usual my car is a POS, the radiator is leaking, the slave is leaking, its eating oil, rattles everywhere, no rear window, blah blah.
Its a piece of shit, I am broke, but I still love it.

After last night, I remember the reason why I love this car, and cars in general. Just being out with friends in the middle of the week doing what we all love to do, in the midst of hundreds of stressors is one of the greatest relievers for me. So to all my late night friends, thank you for the good times. Its those little moments that get me by :-)

But its time for reality now, so I am sitting here writing on my blog, and not driving, and not hanging out. Haha.

Wish me luck on finals. Hopefully I can get my car to a better running position and enter more events.

Drove the car today. A LOT!! I put about 100 miles on it today. Everything works great, but there are still a few issues.

1. Need to re-roll the fenders, RE01Rs are being eaten alive right now
2. Exhaust leak between the header and midpipe
3. Alignment needed, hardcore
4. Needs new steering rack!

Other than that, this night has been awesome. Hung out with the roomates and other friends at China town, hit up all the spots with my friend Alicia, then did like 2 hours of solo driving, then had a photoshoot with AJ, then came home at 4:00AM. Finally nice to get some energy out there. Although I discovered that I had forgot EVERYTHING about drifting heh, even though I couldn't clutch kick or use e-brake, I discovered that all my steering responses were waay slow. So hopefully I can improve now.

So this concludes my amazing night, thanks to everyone who enjoyed it with me :-) Although the solo-action had to be the best.

Nothing better than driving with the top-down, blasting music, dodging potholes, looking up at the city skyline from right below. Perfection.

It moves, but I still need to adjust the clutch some more, I dont think the car is fully going into gear. Other than that, it revs up REALLY fast now, I really like the effects of the flywheel

Up next: some rowdy exhaust system, new wheels, fix the top, new e-brake cables, and possibly a radiator if I feel it necessary. So who knows, at this point, I just wanna drive the car and drift it, dont care too much about the details hah.

IT did feel good to drive again, forgot how much of an escape driving is to me. Can't wait to drive it more! Anyways, peace.

Vinyl Ideas

Yeah, so I am officially a vinyl whore now, and on top of that, my paint is all fucked up cuz its old, and has a lot of dings and dents. So, to continue on in the spirit that Phil started, I have been recently been going through ideas for a new vinyl scheme. Lemme know what you guys think, Im thinking of pulling off ALL the white on the car, and replacing it with SBC vinyl.

Sexy Knights style bursts over the wheels, in SBC of course.

As for the hood, and other body panels, I dont know, feed me some ideas.

The right side of the car, I plan to rock a HUGE Risky Devil Vinyl, along with the motto.

The left side of the car will be reserved for company logos, including Stance, Touge Factory, TH Motorsports, Cusco. and who knows whatever else haha.

My goal is to make the car just look rowdy. Vinyl, scraping low, busted lip, whatever. boro boro ftw

Crazy break!!

This is crazy, I have been busier during my spring break than during my normal school week. This may possibly stem from me trying to fit 10 days of things into 5. It is currently 8:40 AM, and I have been getting up before 9:00AM the past 4 days lol... Ask any of my school friends, you will be lucky to see me move before 12:00 Noon on a regular school day haha. I've been actually studying too. I found myself locked away in Barnes and Nobles twice this week. Homework has been also a regular task for me over break. Anyway, while trying to finish the car, doing favors with friends, and running errands of my own, I realize that I have had little time to devote to other friends I do not see often. I wanted to hang out with everyone over break, but it looks like its not happening so far. So, if I havent called u up over break, my bad I've been super busy :(

As for the car, I have been waiting for Mazda to send me a piece of rubber and a piece of metal for the past 3 days, if it is not here today, I am gonna be really pissed. When I opened my bellhousing, I found a lot of fluid inside. So, I ordered a new input shaft seal and gasket, but I cannot do any more work until they arrive. So lets hope Mazda doesn't fail today, and I can drive my piece of shit through this lovely snow....not

IT BEGINS!!

Finally started gettin dirty and making my damn car move. Took some pics of some of the work

-You can see the damage to my subframe in this picture, its already rusting, can't even count how many times I have banged the shit out of that on the highway or Lake Shore Drive....

-Even the oil pan gets some love, although I should't joke about this, bad things can happen if I rip off my oil pan lol

So, basically we have the transmission out of the car, and we discovered that the housing was really full of trans fluid, which means I have a leak somewhere that I need to fix. Flywheel is getting resurfaced tomorrow, and new clutch is going in.
-So far, I have changed the oil, coolant, diff fluid, trans fluid, clutch fluid, and probably will also change the brake fluid for fun.
-Still have left to do:

Put transmission back into car
Flush coolant system
Clean up coilovers
Find many many tires
blah blah blah
drift

So yea, I'll post more pics when I have them, hopefully I can get this done soon, although I am in no hurry, my spring break is fawking snowed out haha. How lame.

Blah, school is still dragging on, and summer is getting closer and closer! Found some old videos that I haven't seen for awhile. They were both made by my buddy Tim (T2Films) back from summer of 2007. The drifting is weak, but I was learning. Even still, it felt great just to be with people and hold down a spot into the late hours of the morning.

Summer 2006, or maybe 2005, haha I dont remember, but this was still back in highschool. The silver EK (civic Hatchback) was mine.

Ahh, those were the damn days. Care-free, no college pressures, no restraints. Just being with the homeboys thinking bout car stuff.....Feels like soo long ago haha. Hopefully this Summer brings back feelings like that.

Although I dont have a girlfriend right now, there has been one chick thats been dealing with me for a couple of months now, let me introduce you to her :P

Eh, things are changing a little for 08', hopefully the car wont be so LAME haha.

Heres the history of me and this car, although its very short.
Bought the car in the beginning of summer2007, immediately after I sold my old Civic EK. I wanted an FR experience, but also a convertible, so a Miata was the perfect solution. I had admired my friend Phils car for a long time, and the timing was perfect when he put it up for sale. I did not hesitate to jump on the offer, and my new car chapter began.
Learning to drift this car was quite an enjoyable experience. Phil had fortunately bought all the right stuff necessary to drift this car, so all I had to do was get some good seat time in. I have never attended a drift event yet, so all of my practice was on the streets. In the summer and into the fall, I enjoyed hangin out at a bunch of different drift spots all around the area. Still have a long way to go, hopefully this season I will get much much better with both track and street experience.

Plans for 2008!

Yeah, so been really down lately, dunno why... Kinda feel like I've been wasting life doing nothing recently, maybe its just the winter cold haha. However, things are hopefully changing for the better. There is so much hype and anticipation for the 2008 driving season, I am very excited for it as well. If you know me, you know that anytime I have a problem in life, no matter what it is, fully focused, adrenaline driven driving always cures me. With the support of all my friends who are prepping their cars for the rowdiest driving season ever, I think Ill be super motivated to drive even better during 2008. I plan to attend as many drifting and track events that I can afford. Mix those with your typical summer hard-parking events, cruises, and what not. This year is gonna be awesome.
